REVIEW: LUSH KARMA KOMBA AND DARK ANGELS

Over the past few weeks, you've seen my Lush hauls, and i figured it was about time I did some reviews for you. Here we go, starting with Karma Komba solid shampoo and Dark Angels facial cleanser.
First of all, Karma Komba, which is an awesome orange and lemongrass scented solid shampoo bar. It's great for my fine, wavy, frizzy hair, and it's so, so easy to use! Literally like a bar of soap for your head, you just rub it on, lather up and rinse away! Definitely worth a look, and on my list of favourite things right now.
Also on my list of faves is my Dark Angels cleanser, which is amazing for my combination/oily skin. It looks and feels like playdough, it's black because of the charcoal in it, and it's super simple to use with your hands, or like I do, with my facial cleansing brush from Daiso. Dark Angels is a must-try for all oily-skinned peeps, and don't despair if that's not your skin type. For normal, combination and dry skin, you can check out Angels on Bare Skin, the sister product to Dark Angels.

ANOTHER CHEEKY LUSH HAUL!

Another kid-free weekend means another chance to sneak off and do cheeky things... and in my case, that just means going to Lush and checking out what awesome things they have for me this week!

The kids love bath fizzies and so do I, so it makes sense to spend a few bucks every couple of weeks on some things that make us all feel special.

This week, I got a few different things; the Ickle Baby Bot bath fizzer, Dorothy Bubble Bar, Father Christmas Bath Ballistic, Bombardino, The Honeymooner massage bar, and Cupcake face mask.

I'm loving all of their holiday-themed products, and tonight I took a bath with Bombardino, a gorgeous Lemon-Cheesecake-scented bath bomb which left my skin feeling really soft and hydrated!

The other thing I really want to comment on is the customer service at my local Lush Store. I go to Fountain Gate, which is the closest one to me, and there is a girl there (I'm really kicking myself that I didn't catch her name!!! But I know she'll read this and tell me in the comments section below!), she's absolutely gorgeous, with blonde hair and several facial piercings. She is the kindest, most friendly retail salesperson I've encountered, and I feel like she deserves to be recognized for that...so well done and keep up the awesome work. She always helps me find things that I'm looking for and recommends products without being pushy or hanging around too much. That, to me, makes a great sales person.

I'll add the video of my unwrapping these things as soon as it's finished and uploaded. It also contains details about the very first giveaway in my 12 days of Giftmas series, so stay tuned for that on December 1!

Review: Lush Colour Supplement - Jackie Oates

On my last trip to the always-yummy-scented Lush, I decided to check out their new Emotional Brilliance cosmetics range. I was actually looking more for their amazing highly pigmented colour products, but one little gem caught my eye and I just had to check it out for myself.

Now, you need to keep in mind that I generally use MAC foundation, which I consider(ed) to be the best of the best in cosmetics for everyday use. I have to tell you that I've ditched my Matchmaster foundation in favour of Lush Jackie Oates colour supplement. I absolutely lovelovelove this product and I use it every single time I apply makeup now. It's the perfect neutral shade. I'm generally a little bit on the pink side, so yellow-based foundations make me look sick, and pink-based foundations tend to bring out the redness in my skin that little bit more.

As you can see here in my picture, it provides a lovely full coverage base, and when applied with a kabuki brush and set with a pressed powder to finish, it gives a lovely airbrushed look without too much effort.

If you wanted a more casual, everyday look, you can mix it with your favourite day moisturiser and turn it into a BB Cream! It's really, really versatile. Build it up over blemish-prone areas, or dress it down with simple application techniques.

The best part about this product is the price. At $17.95, this is the best value-for-money product I've used. Even if Jackie Oates isn't for you, colour-wise, there are 4 other colour supplements to choose from!

You can pick up Lush colour supplements in Lush stores or at www.lush.com.au

A new approach for Lush.

I know I'm a little slow to jump on the Lush cosmetics bandwagon, but I've had these images in my inbox for a while and just didn't get to them until now because I really wanted to put a massive effort.

So Lush have had the most gorgeous soap and bath products around for a really long time, and they never really delved too far into the cosmetics side of it....until now.

They have released their "Emotional Brilliance" range of cosmetics and there is something for everyone in this super-pigmented range.
From foundations to liquid liners, eyeshadows, lip tints and everything in between, Lush have really hit the market with a bang. The best part is their middle-of-the-road pricing! They are definitely sitting above drug store/ pharmacy brand makeup in their price range, but they are still totally affordable, and for the quality of the product, keeping in mind that everything they do is cruelty-free and organic where they can, I really think they have done very well to keep it reasonably cheap, as far as good quality cosmetics are concerned.

I actually haven't had a chance to get instore to try them out just yet, but you can certainly expect a follow-up post in the next couple of weeks with some swatches and additional info about dome of the products more specifically.

They are definitely worth a look, even if you only go in to look and smell everything in the store. The staff are always super friendly and helpful and everything in their store is so beautifully presented and smells gorgeous.

Midweek pampering sessions: Bathtime!

Welcome to our first midweek pampering session! This is the time to set aside an hour to just relax and have some time for yourself, no matter what you're doing. If you have to wait until the kids are in bed like I do, or if you need to get your studying done first, then get that done, then settle in and have some you time. You deserve it!

This week, my pampering session is all about relaxing in the bath. It might be a steaming hot tub full of scented bath oils, surrounded by candles if the weather is sucky, or it might be a fresh-scented cool bath to pick you back up again after a really hot day.

I was hanging out in the always-gorgeous-smelling Lush store this week, and I decided to buy a couple of really awesome things. Awesome enough that they are sold out online and in most of Lush's stores currently (but more stock is always on the way!). In a haul video last week, I saw bunny (Grav3yardgirl on youTube) raving about the magic wand bubble bar and I just HAD to have one!

Looking at the picture of it, it really does look like a kids' magic fairy wand, and it smells AMAZING! It's a little bit musky, a little bit rosey and little bit something else (?). Anyway, it smells divine. All you have to do is run it under the water for awesome scented bubbles, it's multi use and will last several baths. It even has a little bell to remind you not to tinkle in the bath. (hehe... ok, I made that up.)

The other thing I got that is absolutely delicious smelling is their Angel's Delight soap. It's an almost-citrus-y scent, with hints of floral fragrances and it's constructed in layers of slab colour. Pink, yellow, orange, even a bit of glitter! I can't wait to get into the bath and give myself a good soaking in the bubbles, then lather up with the soap. I'm going to emerge reeking of girliness!

So...now it's your turn. Go get your favourite bath products out and really just relax for a bit. Read a book (or my blog! Be careful with your mobile devices near the water), or just lay there and switch off your busy brain for a moment. It's the middle of the week and you've got nothing better to do anyway.
